Hi have dd on lactose free diet and since weaning and particularly since starting on meat has beome constipated. She has lots of fruit and veg and she drinks from a beaker at meals (tho not lots) She loves prunes and I try and get these into her quite a lot. Is there anything else I can do as dd really struggles to poop (goes purple with the strain)

I think avacado and potatoes make her bunged up. Are there any other noticable culprits with a LO? Any help grafully received!

I think bananas can bung them up.
Constipation used to have a nightmare with DS.
Try and get her to drink as much as possible by whatever means, this was really the only thing that helped my ds.
Also you could try prune juice?

bananas - guaranteed with my LO to make him bunged up ... however, pureed apricots have the opposite effect and prune juice. Try adding and extra ounce of water to each bottle if FF to get extra fluid into her as this may help

cheers. have been avoiding banana as it makes dd sick and swell up like a balloon (am waiting to see dietician for number of reasons with her) but thanks for the info.

DD is FF so might try thae watering down. She LOVES prunes and prune juice. hadn't thought of apricots. will crack those out!

Also try pears, peaches and plums to help combat constipation!

Rice cereal has the same effect as bananas so is best avoided if this is a problem.
