DP found me in tears on mon on his return from work convinced something was wrong. Saturday I had DS1 dressed in party clothes, present(which was a rush sat am buy) in hand and ready to go. just nipped for quick wee, and realised party wasn't for another two weeks!!. Mon I accepted a job. (my first job in 10years). a friend was asking what about half term, whos looking after the children. UMMMMMM no one, nothing arranged. so i had to decline job offer. Monday pm. I realised i had booked DS1 into after school club for one day during half term. mad thing was, the date i wanted wasn't on the form (because its half term) so I WROTE the date in, and commented to DP that the school had missed a whole week off the form!! then i had to phone the school to ask for my cheque back. Is it me, am I going bonkers, I do have a calendar that i check 2/3 times on a daily basis.

Oh dear, bit of a sitcom. Probably a one-off blip, maybe you have too much on your mind x

hoolagirl · 15/02/2007 13:04

You just sound stressed x

CurlyN · 15/02/2007 13:10

No the bath thing doesn't work for me either. Spose it depends on what you are particularly stressed about. Personally I always feel better if I'm organised and on top of things. Love a list, me, but then I'm a bit of a control freak.

Sorry CurlyN, not terribly helpful, but I like to think I'm am bumping your thread for someone useful to come along hon x

I de-stress by tidying up and writing stuff down in my calender.

Sad, I know, but effective. (well, that and few glasses of a nice merlot )

CurlyN · 15/02/2007 14:04

thanks walnutshell. I always thought I was organised. I have a calendar that I check. Its just not worked on these occasions....for whatever reason???. I must be looking at the wrong weeks/days. I have started writing lists again which is helping. (I gave up smoking and stopped writing lists????) I have started to have the odd smoke outside at night, and this is when I think, then run inside to pop on list, ready for the next day. But if i don't write things down then forget it. I could be sitting on a winning lotto ticket that i forgot I bought.

Try taking some Ginko Biloba supplements - they improve the blood supply, so help your brain. Make sure you are drinking plenty of water, eating enough essential fats from oily fish, nuts and seeds as you need these to nourish your brain cells. If it is hormone related you could try agnus castus tincture to regulate your hormones. If you have problems relaxing you could try hypnotherapy - buy a CD off of ebay and listen to it every day, or breathing exercises or yoga. Exercising can help to relieve stress and calm you down too. Hope this helps.

Walnutshell · 15/02/2007 14:16

I knew someone would come along with some sensible advice soon.

Are you really worried Curly?

CurlyN · 15/02/2007 14:30

Oh Rumpel, sounds wonderful and thank you for the advise, I WILL TRY to eat more nuts, seeds drink more water and eat more oily fish, exercise and listen to me calming music. I WILL DEFO invest in Ginko Biloba supp and agnus castus tincture. Can I take both?

Yes Curly - the only people who need to avoid Ginko is people who are on blood thinning drugs, like warfarin, and obviously if you are pregnant.

CurlyN · 15/02/2007 15:33

thanks. so i have lost me marbles temporarily. and hopefully will be back on track soon.

At least you didn't get as far as getting the kids in their uniforms and to school, only to look in amazement at the locked up school building, as it slowly dawned that it was half term. I did.

estatebabe · 15/02/2007 16:32

I no it sounds naff - but I sit down on a sunday night and make a list of all the things i have to do on each day of the week. Do it on a4 paper and I can add things and cross them off as necessary. I keep this list in the kitchen and look at it everytime I go in there. Its so rewarding on fridays to see that everything has been crossed off too!
