Manky finger!!

My wedding ring has suddenly made my finger go weird
It's really sore and I've had to stop wearing my wedding band and engagement ring because of it.
It gets worse whenever my hands get wet, mainly when I'm washing up.

Any ideas of what could help? I've tried sudocreme and coconut oil but neither really did anything. A sore, scaly finger doesn't really seem like something o bother my GP about

Contact dermatitis!
Change your washing up liquid or find gloves you aren't allergic to.

Could some soap or something have got trapped under your ring? Seems odd it's only there.

I used Gloves in a Bottle with success. It's a barrier lotion. Decent handcream? Mild hand wash.

I got exactly the same when I was pregnant. Still can't wear it now. Hoping when hormones wear down that it will be ok again. There's lots of stories about it happening for hormone reasons. Wore mine for 2 years beforehand without a problem.

I had exactly the same , it happened randomly and I couldn't wear any rings or watches , that was about 10 years ago and I still can't wear rings / watches or it happens , I'd worn my wedding ring for 15 years with no problems before .

Go to theGP. It could be contact dermatitis, in which case the only thing to do is stop wearing the rings, though steroid cream might help the skin recover. Or it could be fungal, in which case you'll need a cream to treat it.

If it is contact dermatitis, don't assume that you are allergic to the rings, you could actually be allergic to the detergents.

I've worn them for two years with no bother, and haven't changed my dish detergent, I have however just had another baby! So maybe it's hormonal.
