Ok, I know Dr Professor God McPoo says this, but is it actually false?

Someone else quoted her talking about food colours mattering. Don't they? I try to eat a rainbow sort of diet, and have a (ok, completely irrational) hatred of cauliflower, am I just being silly?

Shes had her 'Dr' removed so I wouldnt take any notice of anything she spouts

Carmenere · 13/02/2007 19:44

Some colours in vegetables are indicative that there are certain vitamins ect(beta-carotenes, iron, folates) in them so it is a good idea to eat a wide range. She is not a doctor and spouts rubbish a lot of the time but eating a wide variety of veg is a good thing and afaik there is no actual need for anyone to eat cauliflower

NotQuiteCockney · 13/02/2007 19:45

Well, I believed it before she said it - I don't believe it because she said it.

dark green more important i think, and red...think you can live without broccolii!

lulumama · 13/02/2007 19:46

meant cauliflower

NotQuiteCockney · 13/02/2007 19:46

I put the Dr up there with Professor and God, so I'm not entirely serious about it ...

wot carmenere sez. The colours aren't magic or anything.

eat some broccoli instead, same biological group, similar nutrients

NotQuiteCockney · 13/02/2007 19:48

I do eat brocolli, and lots of cabbage etc. I really do eat every vegetable, well, I struggle to see the point of globe artichokes, and still don't know what I should do with fennel, but still ...

I also dislike parsnips, but do serve them, and eat them a bit. Again, white food is evil, right? (Ok, other than garlic and onions.)
