Yellow poo in 12 mo

Ds has had some very loose, offensive nappies over the weekend and stayed at home yesterday. He had a gastric bug a couple of weeks ago and it seems to be a less severe reoccurrence. His nursery seem concerned that his poo is presently yellow and a bit loose. Might it be because he has mainly had just formula and water in the last few days or does it suggest that he is still suffering...

I would imagine that it's a combination of things. At 12 mnths the bowel is still quite primitive in its ability to absorb, especially new things. If he is off his food and is having mainly milk I guess that could be the cause of the yellow colour.

DD2 (17mths) has had similar problems and I was advised to give her Restore. It comes in a powder form and has about ten different gut flora. You can put it in their food or drinks. It comes in powder form and has not taste.

Hope he feels better soon.

My DS's poo was exactly like that today and yesterday as he's been sick since Sunday night. I'm sure it's just because, like you said, he's only been eating vey little and mostly water/milk. If it carries on in the next day or two, I'd take hime to see GP. My DS is 2 so it might be a bit different.

My 16 month ds had this recently. A few days o after a d&v virus and only drinking milk his poos went back to being like a newborns for a couple of days.

Funny this topic came up tonight, dd's nappy was like this at bath time. I put it down to the fact that she has been a non stop milkaholic yesterday and today.

Thanks. Sounds like it probably is down to the milk consumption... Ds much better today thankfully!
