So, ds is 12 weeks old and yet to have any immunisations...
I assumed they would be done at the 6 week check which happened to be at 8 weeks because of the Christmas holidays but no, the Health Board had arsed up and not arranged any clinics for a large group of babies born in November. Never mind says the HV, you'll be given an appointment in the next couple of weeks.
The letter came with an appointment for today. I had to wake up ds from his nap so very grumpy, get to the surgery to be met by two nurses who tell me the clinic is cancelled.
There appears to have been a spat of some sort between them and the HV (who is on holiday) and they have decided that they don't know the babies who are booked in for that clinic well enough to immunise them.
As ds has seen the HV all of twice in his life I don't really get this - and surely this is what notes are for.
Apparently I'll get another letter when the clinic is rearranged. Meanwhile he is 4 weeks behind schedule already.
OK, I don't expect this to make much difference but they presumably have these timings for a reason - I'm sure I read that whooping cough for instance is particularly dangerous in the early months.
It is all a PITA!
