Low lymphocytes, is this a problem?

Are there any doctors out there who can advise? I've had blood tests at various times over the last year or so, and have always had a low lymphocyte level. Some GPs I've seen say it might indicate something, some say it's not important. I've been seeing gps about various different illnesses (have a couple of autoimmune conditions) so it's never been top of the list to ask about, but I wondered if anyone could shed any light on it? It's been consistently below range for over a year. I'm a bit baffled by it really.

It is possible your autoimmune conditions are the reason behind this.
I would be asking how low they are and if there's anything you can do?
As far as my research goes it's not possible to increase lymphocytes by treatment but trying to fix the reason they are low can increase them.
If they are exceptionally low it leaves you at a greater risk of infection and it being worse because you haven't got the lymphocytes to fight it .

They started off quie low (0.65 I think with the range being from 1.5-3.5) and have milled about just under 1.0 for a while, but always out of range. I've googled (of course!) and all the info I've found seems to suggest the reason behind persistently low lymphocytes should be investigated but it's hardly ever mentioned.
I would have thought an autoimmune issue would give a high level rather than a low one, as your immune system is basically overactive? As I say, I'm baffled!

It can go various ways, you can make too many, too few or the right amount and your lymphnodes keep hold of them and they don't make it in to your blood properly.
Ask your Drs to explain properly why they're low. It maybe until you are in control of your autoimmune conditions there's nothing they can do??

I've never had an 'in range' lymphocyte count but doctors have never even mentioned it to me - I've just noticed from checking my results online. The lowest was 0.48 with a range of 1.2 to 3.5. I'd be really interested if you find any reason for it.

Not that I'm aware of. Blood tests were all done for different reasons and didn't show up anything else.

I have autoimmune neutropenia and that makes my neutrophils low. Basically I kill them off (thanks body!)
