Smelly belly button

So embarrassing. I've got an innovative belly button and when I stuck my finger in there it smelt .
I've tried cleaning it with a cotton wool bud but I still feel it's a bit yucky.
Is this a sign of something bad and if it's just a cleaning issue how do you deal with yours?

Definitely anti fungal cream or talc. That will blitz it without a doubt!

Only a few months ago I was so skinny it was an outstanding belly button. I've put on almost 2 st since spring and it's now an inny. This hygiene is new to me

I know someone who got an infection in her belly button, she was pregnant at the time, I never asked how or why but thought I should share.

Wash and dry thoroughly every day.

I dry mine with a cotton bud every time I have a shower, I find that if I don't that's when it gets smelly.
