My toddler can't keep down solids but she doesn't seem unwell in any other way.

She's 16 months. The whole household are suffering from a virus that is doing the rounds.

My toddler only appeared to be under the weather for a day (Sunday). She vomitted on that day. Her appetite hasn't returned to normal but she's snacked on grapes, crackers, dry cereal, dry bread and toast and managed yoghurt.

Each time I think she's fine and sit her in the highchair and offer a meal or toast with something on it (egg, cream cheese, jam...) she eats a little then vomits. She's vomitted once a day. After she has been sick, she looks and acts fine.

I'm really puzzled. For the 1st 3 days I thought it was due to her having a sensitive gag reflex. A little coughing led up to the vomit episode. Could she have a sore throat like the rest of that and would that cause her to be sick?

I don't think a sore throat would do it. Could be a gag reflex. Does she take a bit down, and then gag and gag and vomit? Or what?

Is some of what she eats staying down? Is she drinking milk still?

I'd probably not worry about it, if she's generally well and hydrated, just keep offering food, and expect it to sort itself out.
