but my 19mth old dd is very duck toed, so much so that she trips herself up sometimes, is this something I should see the doc about or does it put itself right as she gets older (feel daft posting this as there are far more serious issues on here)

They do often outgrow it, but I would get it checked, especially if she is tripping herself up. My ds was like this and i took him to GP who referred us to orthopaedic specialist and it turned out he has hyper flexible hips. Not a problem and he is good at athletics. And he did get better as he grew. The thing is it would be useful to know whether it was really the feet or knees or hips and if it should be monitored or not. HTH

dd was like that and to an extent still is (she's 5). Was told she'd outgrow it by 3 or 4 but she was still tripping herself. Had it assessed a year ago and unless it is very pronounced or there is an underlying problem with foot or hip they don't treat it. Hers were within their tolerance and it does seem less noticeable now. Supportive shoes and ankle boots as opposed to wellies or poorly fitted ones (dd ahs narrow feet) helped minimise the problem.
