Hi all! I just wanted to know the general opinion on what to do.....I have a 14 month old ds (who still doesn't sleep through) and since he was born ive been suffering with tiredness, bruising , anxiety and dizzyness. Finally went to the gp last week I need to go back for more tests as my thyroid came back borderline positive, and a blood clotting test came back abnormal I also have anaemia. I'm just utterly exhausted with everything at the moment and struggling with work and keep making simple mistakes (work in a pharmacy!) wibu to phone in sick tomorrow? I've just been given the iron tablets and due to go back to Drs on Monday for further tests I feel abit of a fraud phoning in.....xx

i think many of us have phoned in sick when we haven't really been "sick". If you are feeling unwell, call in sick, but don't tell them it's anaemia!

Oo thank you I didn't know if I should mention it or not.My boss knows how tired ive been but most of my work think it's due to ds and don't know about my health issues I'm having (diagnosed with pnd when he was born) it's so hard knowing what to do! x

I usually just tell my boss I'm feeling under the weather :) i don't think there's a requirement to give them an exact reason. i hope you start feeling better soon!

Hi elly,

Both these conditions could take a wee while to sort out enough for you to feel better. It's very difficult to cope with and also ask for time off (I've been there) as in reality you'd potentially need a couple of months. However you will feel better eventually.

I'd take the time off and possibly talk to GP about what to do for the best. They may suggest a sick note for a couple of weeks.

In the long run I'd talk to your employer I actually found oc health v supportive as thyroid is a chronic condition.

Feel free to pm me. I had a terrible time after my son was born with thyroid, anaemia and later asthma.
