DD (18 away at college) had a tightness of chest this morning - not helped at all by her ventolin - her peak flow was normal 3 hrs later & no mucus/phlegm

She generally only struggles with breathing when she gets an infection & without antibiotics she needs steroids very quickly.

College have insisted she sees her own GP not a local to college GP so she is on her way home

Allergies could be a possibility but the trigger would have been introduced about 2 weeks ago so I thought it a bit late really

Any ideas?

She saw the practice nurse & is in the middle of a major incident

5 days oral steroids & an antihistamine

Quite concerned as I'm not sure I can remove the allergen easily Sad

I have booked private allergy tests this morning - I hope I am doing the right thing

Could it be the stormy weather? Both mine find this time of the year can get them going,

Katymac · 29/09/2016 08:01

Maybe - I wondered about stress, but the nurse thought it was a very big reaction which was why she thought allergy

my asthma nurse did allergy blood tests , she checked an anti body ??and some other things like dogs , duck feather, dust , mould .
my tests came back normal.
stress is a big factor for me, i ended up having a massive attack last month and needed to be admitted and they think it was stress related and being the first day of my period(i ve had 3 big attacks this year and they have all been on first day of my period)

How odd I'd never thought of them being hormone based

The surgery said an appt with a GP (3-4 weeks) then a wait for the allergy clinic which is 9-15 months

So I paid private this morning
