My DD who is 2 has been at nursery where there has been an outbreak of the slapped cheek syndrome (also called 5th disease - a virus which is flu/cold like and can lead to red patches on cheeks hence the name)
My DD has been very unwell, took her to GP who diagnosed a "viral infection" (don't they always!) nothin mentioned about slapped cheek. He suggested half teaspoon honey three times a day and calpol if she gets a temperature (she hasn't)
Anyway this was over a week ago, she has only in last 2 days been more like her usual self but my big problem is her appetite has virtually disappeared. Can a 2 year old survive on a few raisins, a breadstick, a handful of shreddies and a soya milkshake? I've tried all sorts of temptations.
Tonight my worry is that she has sores or soreness in her mouth as every time she seemed to put a spoon of yogurt (me in background silently cheering - she cries with pain) Any ideas?
She had streaming cold, which as cleared, a cough, coldsores around mouth and general lethargy/clingyness.
