Woke up this morning feeling dreadful, I had this real sinking feeling immediately as I have been feeling like this more and more recently. Its a feeling that is kind of undescribable that you can't shake. I feel weak, vacant, shakey, light headed and no matter what i try and do i can't pull myself out of it. Thing is I have no fever or other symptoms, have recently been to the gps regarding this as the last episode left me looking pale and really knocked me for six. I ah a full set of bloods done, all came back ok, which suprised me tbh as i really know that something isn't right. This feeling will last one day, two at the max and is happening every couple of weeks. I jst don't know what to do, i feel like crying with frustration, its like my head is full of cotton wool. I have also put on quite a bit of weight and am feeling incredibly short tempered, but as quick as it comes on it will leave and tomorrow i could feel absolutely right as rain. If anyone has any idea at all of what could be causing this then i would really appreciate the advice. if one more person tells me its my age (ffs I'm 27!!) or because i'm a mum then i will scream yes life can be tiring but i knwo my body and this isn't right! TIA

Are you on any regular medication?

twinsetandpearls · 04/02/2007 18:37

quadrophenia am on my third gp, and my second practice, I do suffer from depression but it is more than that. Even when I was in depths of depression and hospitalised I did not feel as ill as I do now on a daily basis. I have just accepted that this is the way that I ahve to live, have enquired about seeing a specialist not too far from here who specialises in fatigue sydrome but the ironic thing is I would probably have to be working full time to afford his fees and I am too ill to do that!

Tiggerish · 04/02/2007 18:39

twinset - where are you? When I had ME I saw a fantastic specialist on the NHS who had me sorted from bed-bound to fulltime work in a year

twinsetandpearls · 04/02/2007 18:42

Blackpool

Tiggerish · 04/02/2007 18:44

Bit of a long way - he was in Essex. He was fab though.

quadrophenia · 04/02/2007 18:46

No regular meds Jalopy just the coil
which after reading your link Ledogy could just have something to do with it. Am scared of having it removed though in case i am wrong, i used to have horrendous periods, now they are so light. i have seen my coil a bit as a best friend as I am very fertile and for once I feel 'safe' to have sex.

twinsetandpearls I am so sorry you are going through this with so little support it must be very frustrating.

Tiggerish What did treatmet involve. Did you go private?

Tiggerish · 04/02/2007 19:07

It was all on the NHS - I was really lucky. My GP had worked with the specialist and was able to refer me direct to him.
The treatment was basically a strict activity regime combined with mega doses of (I think) 3 different types of anti-depressants. He uses anti-d's because of his belief in what the illness does and how it affects the brain.

twinsetandpearls · 04/02/2007 19:14

I have been trying for years and got nowhere, it reduces me to tears on a weekly if not daily basis.

I may just go and see a BUPA GP to see if eh will refer me and we will just borrow the money to see a consultant.

Tiggerish · 04/02/2007 19:18

I really hope you get sorted soon. I remember it just like you describe.

Quadrophenia - sorry for the hijack

twinsetandpearls · 04/02/2007 19:21

I take it they have tested for glandular fever (though you would be more likely to feel like this all the time I think)

CountessDracula · 04/02/2007 19:33

actually come to think of it I did have it intermittently at first

quadrophenia · 04/02/2007 20:27

No Cd haven't been tested for that, hadn't occured to me, will do a google on it, cheers

The first symptoms I remember exactly as you describe and additionally feeling too tired to get up.

Hope it#s not that, it was vile

Ulysees · 04/02/2007 20:46

So sorry to hear you're all suffering.I'm under a lot of stress and wake up with aches and pains. Also have dermatitis on my face because of it. I think stress can be a major cause of illness but ME and other Chronic fatigue illnesses are so common now. I don't know if it's enviromental factors or what but I can't believe how many women (especially) I know that suffer.
Hope you all get some help as it's tough enough being a mum without this xxxx

Hi Quadrophenia,
I know this is a really old thread but I'm experiencing something that sounds like what you were going through - did you ever get any answers?
