Episiotomy scar still bit sore - 2 years on

Now forgive me if this is too graphic but I when I had DS over 2 years ago I had a 3rd degree cut. The midwife did a great job of stitching me up (she was down there for over an hour .
Problem is when DH and I have sex the scar of the epis. still gets sore at times and can even bleed a little. have tried copious quantities of KY etc but doesn't seem to make a difference
Is this usual- can anything be done?
Sorry if TMI!!

I have posted something very similar over on badmums (didn't have a 3rd degree, just and 2nd degree mind), and the general consensus was 1)go to the GP, it's not normal and 2)they can do something about it - sometimes physio can help, othertimes a small op can help.

Agree. It's not normal. I went to GP after my scar from a tear still hurt and bled and I was referred for a Fenton's procedure. I had excess and granulated scar tissue which was lasered off and also a small incision which was restitched. Not pleasant but 100x better when healed.

If you have private medical you can get it done maybe quicker, or NHS.

Go! I had my op done 10 months after the birth and wish I'd gone sooner. 2 years is too long to be having painful sex.

Hi there,
It is 2 years on after the birth(forceps +episio) and every time I have sex there is a small half centimetre split in my perinium that is uncomfortable and bleeds slightly. It heals up and disappears until the next time... Has anyone else encountered this and how was it sorted out? I am 4 months pregnant but probably going to opt for a caesarian next time. Thanks.

I also had a fenton's procedure when dc1 was 8mo. It fixed things completely and I have just (as in today!!!) had a c-section for dc2 to avoid further damage to the area. Get to your GP! No need to suffer.
