Hi, looking for some advice as this has been bothering me for the past five years but has got a lot worse this year. I am 44, slim and active, my resting heart rate has always been very low 48-54bpm and I had a heart murmur, but not sure if I still have it. When doing even the lightest exertion, walking up an incline, gardening, my heart goes into overdrive and I feel very breathless and sometimes dizzy. It can take up to an hour to feel back to normal. I love to walk and am normally ok if it's a flat walk and doing a good pace is no problem. Generally active, but never had these issues prior to last pregnancy.
History of heart problems in the family, Dad had a bypass at 67, despite being very fit, grandfather died at 40 of heart condition. I mentioned it to the GP last year, but he dismissed it without any examination. Feel a bit silly going back, but I am avoiding arranging walks etc with friends as I am embarrassed about the breathlessness and other symptoms. Anyone had similar or am I just really really unfit 🤔
