as school doesn't administer drugs at all, have got to spread antibiotic out so that dd1 has x1 before school x 1 after x1 about bedtime then x1 before i got to bed.
anyway,as hubbie was getting up at 4 this morning, asked him to give her a dose then i would give her another before school. course,i forgot didn't i?!
don't drive so need lifts to get there and back to school.school will only allow me to go in at lunch time (but i know she'll end up not having her dinner if i go before she has it as they're rushed as it is).If I go at 12.45pm, it's only a couple of hours until home time anyway. i rang the pharmacist up this morning and they said as long as she gets a dose straight after school, should just be able to make it. what would you do if you didn't drive?

I agree, it will be OK, just give it as soon as you can, and maybe given next dose a little earlier to get back on track. So if thats 4 times a day, maybe leave 4-5 hours before next dose instead of 6. Writing as a nurse and a parent who's cocked up the times of antibiotics on many occasions!

She's had her morning one (albeit early) - I'd just carry on as normal with the afterschool, bedtime and late-night doses.
She'll still have had 4 today even if they're spaced a bit funny.

I also wouldn't ask dh to do them early in the future, stick with breakfast, after school, bedtime and late.

OH!Thankyou Headgirl! i was getting quite worked up then! I couldn't believe i forgot it this morning after nagging hubbie not to forget himself earlier! so, it will be ok then you think?

Definately no damage will be done. The only problem with unevenly spaced doses is that she might have a few loose stools, but you often get that with antib's anyway. As Mrs B says, the important thing is she's got her 4 doses in for the day.
