I think my filling is too big?

Had a massive filling replaced a couple of days ago, but the bite doesn't feel right. Do I need to get it filled down? How does that work? Does it mean another injection?

Anyone? It quite ruined my bacon sandwich this morning.

I had an old filling replaced recently and it felt too big for about a fortnight but now feels fine I guess they just need wearing in.

I'd leave it a couple of weeks as so.etimes they take a while to settle down. If it just needs a little filing down they can try this without an injection although it can be a little sensitive

Ring dentist on Monday, explain bite is a bit high. They'll prob get you in to adjust occlusion (bite) using bite paper / file bit off. Usually wont need injection as on filling not your tooth.

Thanks. It's definitely meeting before the other teeth so I think it is too big. Pleased to know it doesn't require another injection as my mouth is still a bit sore from the last one.

Hiya, I had this problem, I had gone to a different dentist for a filling and it felt wrong. And then after a few weeks my tooth and the one directly above it, started to ache, which eventually resulted on extra work on both teeth! I went along to my normal dentist and said that the bite felt wrong, and he just corrected it by grinding it down ( or whatever they do), no injection as it wasn't being redrilled to the roots.
Everyone one is different, so yours might be ok, but if I was you, I would contact where you got it done and just say it doesn't feel correct, feels too high, and hopefully they can grind it to ur correct bite. ( I should think that it should be FOC as should have been done correctly in first place). I would definitely get it checked out, for peace of mind.

It's really common to need fillings filed down a bit if the bite is not quite right. Tiny tiny job for them to do, will take seconds.

Also- don't know how you feel, but I never have injections for fillings- always say no thanks unless it's agony, but have never had to resort to that !
