The most expensive and persistent verrucca in the world...

About 8 years ago I got a verrucca. Dr said just to leave it and it would go away. So I did but it didn't. In fact last year it started spreading so I decided to treat it. I have tried:

• banana skin
• tea tree oil
• duct tape
• over the counter corn plasters
• over the counter verucca treatment spray (to freeze)
• getting it burnt off by dermatologist (100 euros and couldn't walk for a week)
• getting it treated and then frozen by a chiropodist (80 euros)
• TWICE!

The bloody thing is back! The only thing that I haven't tried is paying a "wise woman" witch to put a spell on it for me. (Yes, this has been suggested). Before I go completely over to the dark side, can anyone suggest anything else that might work?? Thanks!

Ds had a verucca on underside of his toe. Hes only 5 and it was a big horrible thing. Started making him really uncomfortable wearing shoes so decided to treat it. Checked with gp first that it def is a verucca. Got bazuka extra strength from boots. Have put it on every evening for 4 days and last night when I went to put bazuka on him, it literally fell off. It was completely seperated from his toe! He's had the blasted thing for nearly a year. Wish I'd bought bazuka sooner! The pharmacist did said it can take a couple of months for some ppl but maybe worth a try?

Oh, quick tip, put vaseline around the verucca you're treating cos apparently if it gets on healthy skin it can burn

File it down and dig the root out.

Get the plasters round it that burn the skin away. When it protrudes, catch it firmly with tweezers and excise.

I had 5 really huge verruca on my foot. They were really really painful. I used every otc treatment, every homeopathic thing, duct tape etc. Then I went to a podiatrist who puy salicylic acid on every week for 6 weeks and when that didn't work I had very painful cryotherapy. That still didn't work. Then about a year later they just disappeared! My skin looked like there was nothing ever there it is really strange!

Thanks. Seahorse - I live in hope! It is really painful though so I don't understand why doctors just say "leave it alone". I haven't been able to go running for months.

Yes mine were really painful, I sympathise with you. At one point I had to use crutches because I literally couldn't put my foot down (they were on the soft part of my heel, right on the bit you walk on)
I have no idea why they suddenly disappeared or I would tell you what I did x

Try homeopathic thuja - i tried it as a last resort for my son - even though I didn't really believe it would work and it was gone in three weeks, exactly as I was told it would. (Previously tried pretty much all the above except bazuka) You need your body to recognise that's it's a virus then it sorts it out itself.

I had a persistent verruca that had spread to become one huge mosaic wart and several others underneath all my toes. I'd had it/them for over 14 years and had tried all the things you've done - some repeatedly, some for months at a time. I also had 2 large warts on one finger.

They all started to recede about a year ago and had gone within 3 months. I'd done 2 things: listened to a YouTube Get Rid Of Warts self-hypnosis thing 2 or 3 times and started taking high dose Vitamin D (5000 iU a day).

Who knows? My money's on the Vitamin D but could be a complete coincidence.

If you mean a single verruca has spread, continue trying to treat it as suggested.
If it has multiplied, you need professional help and your GP should refer you to the hospital. (At one point I had so many I couldn't count them, but by the point I got to the dermatologist I had become immune and they had gone. )

These plasters work a treat - have a dot of poison in them! Gone in a week
