Sorry to hear your news OJ. Very much hope it will be operable.
If you click on the Web links site on MN, there is a childcare agency specialising in care for children with additional needs.
Fingers crossed for your DH.

onlyjoking - what horrid news.

A friend of my dh was diagnosed with a brain tumour 3 years ago, aged only 32,he actually lost his sight with it. He had surgery and will be taking medication for the rest of his life, but the good news is that his sight has returned(the tumour was putting pressure on the optic nerve but luckily did not damage it permanently) He has to have annual scans to ensure the tumour is not returning, but so far so good!!

I hope the outlook for your husband is good, please keep us updated.

lucy5 · 24/01/2007 14:42

onlyjoking9329 · 24/01/2007 19:44

now back from the hospital, the hospital have done a full body scan to check if any other tumours, they will be having a meeting about steve in the morning to decide on course of action. the top nuero bloke is doing the meeting and i need to go in tommorrow at midday, Steve was trying to be jovial but i know it was just a cover and that he is frightened.

Sorry to hear that.
Yes my friend's Mum .
Not a particularly good kind either, but after surgery and radio/chemo is now absolutely brilliant again. In fact better than she felt in ages.

Stay positive Medicine these days can be amazing.
Best wishes. x x

mamama · 24/01/2007 19:55

evamum · 24/01/2007 20:09

OJ, so sorry to hear this, my cousin and brother in law have both recovered from brain tumours though, my cousin had his removed 15 years ago and he has been fine ever since.

Hope it works out for you, keep posting and we shall try and help you out

ShinyHappyPeopleHoldingHands · 24/01/2007 20:14

OJ ((((hugs)))) There are a great many stories to be read frequently in the press about people recovering from brain tumours.. there's one in the Mirror today.

Sending you both love and ~~~~strong vibes~~~~. Could you talk to your HV about child care? Mine was wonderful when DS2 was in hospital and provided just the right kind of help.

Thinking of you xx
