Alternative to cows milk?

Is there a better alternative to cows milk for adults and/or children?

Following a passing comment by someone, I am now concerned at the amount of hormones in cows milk, and what effect this may have in the future healthwise.

Is organic milk any better, or soya, or goats?

I don't think hormone treatment is allowed in British milk cows - correct me if I'm wrong, please. Organic milk is supposed to have less 'mucus', but what, exactly, is this mucus? Goats'milk is always free-range, as goats don't take well to being intensively reared, so, if you're concerned about animal-welfare, that's the best option. Personally I don't care for soya milk, find it tasteless and indigestible, I drink Oatly and eat cheese/yogurt/sesame/greens etc for calcium.

It was just a passing comment by someone about milk containing hormones/oestrogen, which, in their opinion only, could "possibly" cause early puberty etc in young girls. Don't know how valid this comment was, but it has got me thinking, and of course frantically searching the internet.

As an aside to this, my daughter loves milk and dairy, but she also has eczema and I wonder if this is possibly effecting it.

Just been flicking around the threads and also heard rice milk mentioned, so will have a look for more info on that.

Rice Dream is lush, and you can get it with added calcium. Bit pricey though.

Rice Dream is nice. I sometimes have it for a change, but find it a bit sweet for day-to-day. You can get Oatly with calcium added.

Apparently buffalo milk and buffalo products are tolerated better than cow's milk. There are buffalo farms dotted around the country and I expect you can find someone who delivers locally.
