WEEING constantly

i have always need to go for a wee multiple times a day, sometimes even every hour -and rarely every 30 minutes in a bad day. i notice this more when out and frequently have to find a loo twice when out in town. its rarely that frequent all day, but i have windows of time when its especially bad. thing is, i don't often have a very full bladder and can feel desperate but with not much urine when i actually go. i don't have any incontinence or pain at all and that seems to be a key thing when googling frequent urination.

any advice? its so irritating!

i drink a fair amount of tea but am sure thats not the main issue.

Are you sure tea is not the main issue because you've excluded it over a period without effect?

Caffeine is a bladder irritant. Would it be worth drinking water for a couple of days (or longer if it works)?

Without spasms, bladders have enormous capacities. Water is the best thing to flush out the tract, too. Although I find it a little bit of a nuisance having to re-hydrate regularly, it always works.

mary, I've never tried giving up the tea, actually. except when i go on holiday to places where you can't get a decent cuppa, then i have maybe one cup a day and still need to go often. would i have to cut it out altogether? i can't manage without my morning cuppa!

Frequently needing to wee can be a symptom of diabetes. It usually goes along with being unusually thirsty and tired, but even if you don't have those symptoms it's probably worth getting it checked out with your GP or getting a blood sugar test from the chemist at least.

It's probably the tea, last summer I weeing so often I was considering going to the doctors about it. Started a new job which meant I wasn't continously drinking tea all day and my bladder went back to normal. I can still have a couple of cups but no where near the volume of before.
Alcohol is even worse, one a night out I go every 20 minutes probably.

Just a break of a couple of days, perhaps more if you like. When you're happy, the half to one litre daily seems to be okay provided it's not last thing.

Drink lots of water; counter-intuitively (I think, anyway), because it flushes out the tract, there is less irritant, so you actually need to go less frequently and every large flush helps even more... (incognito is the only way to discuss waterworks matters)

I had a prolapse issues so visited a physiotherapist for pelvic floor issues. I had no bladder leakage etc, just post op I wanted to maintain good habits and retrain myself. However, a few months of doing the pelvic floor exercises I notice I only go to the loo a very few times a day now instead of a few times in the morning, few in afternoon etc. The pattern has really changed even though it wasn't a problem for me before.
If you are not getting up to go at night, then it could be just pressure on the urethra from gravity. So a programme of pelvic floor exercises may be something for you to try. At the physio they get you to record how many times you go, and then a couple of months later you can compare the notes.

This can be a symptom of menopause/perimenopause too, if you're of that age.

You may have an over active bladder which is what I have been battling with for years. I am the same as you. Need the loo every hour, up 3 times a night. When we go out I am always looking for the loo and feeling anxious in case I need to go.

I was given some tablets and had to do bladder re-training/pelvic floor exercises but to be honest it didn't really make much difference and I have slipped back in to bad habits again.

I have got to go to a funeral next week and am already worrying about what happens if I need the loo. I need to get back on top of it again.
