Has anyone successfully used duct tape to get rid of veruccas? Thanks.

Ok - a verruca challenge for you all. DS2 has a number of the buggers on his big toe and they seem to be spreading. We've tried Bazooka/filing and the skin is peeling but nothing else. He is severely autistic and won't tolerate any sort of plaster or tape. I think they are getting more painful as he's becoming wary of us touching his foot. What to do?

Superglue?

Sprog have you checked with a dr? How many are there?

Sprog19 · 04/07/2016 22:25

About 5 - we haven't taken him yet as to be honest he probably wouldn't let the dr examine him and have even less chance after a school day. Since my OP the skin has started peeling and it looks a bit better.

We have tried the duct tape and it just wouldn't stay on. I'm currently trying nightly filing and Salactol but I'm not certain much is happening!!

Duck tape (that's the brand name) is working really well here. Cutting it really small so it only covers the verucca. This brand is staying on, other 'duct' tapes I tried just slipped off.

I haven't heard the superglue recommendation before, but have had the podiatrist suggest nail varnish to us. She recommended a make called Dr's Remedy because it has less nasties in and also contains tea tree which she said was good against the veruccas. Might be worth a go if the tape is not poss?
