I posted earlier about her not taking any medicine, I managed to get part of the dosage into her but the remainder went on me, anyway she has been on the sofa with her pillow, blanket and bunnies since I got her up this morning. She has had 1/2 of her cup of juice and a bite of a banana, she wont have anything else. She is very hot, I dont know what her temp is my ds broke the thermometer this morning. She has never been like this before and I am a little concerned Even when ds goes up to her she doesnt bat an eyelid normally she will either a) give him a big hug or kiss or b) wallop him with bunny.

Is it prescription medicine? if so then yes I'd let the doc know, bit late in the day though now
Can you not get any calpol or anything into her via juice?
otherwise to cool her strip her down and open a window to keep her cool

call the doctor to be on the safe side. I would.

Its medised I am 'trying' very hard to give her, have tried it in juice, multi vit syrup stuff that she loves, even tried to follow it up with a spoon of ice cream but she is too clever, even at age 2 bless her. SHe is only in a nappy at the mo too, keeps on doing little cries and asking for bunny even though she already has it, it is so sad normally when she is ill its for about 1/2 a day and she is never on the sofa like this

Will she drink milk, you can put medised in milk?

blondehelen · 16/01/2007 17:20

Does she really need the medised. I would be reluctant to give a lethargic ill child medised at this time of day. it will be difficult to detect any deterioration or improvement.

I would get a Dr's opinion, especially if she hasn't drunk much. Is her nappy wet? Can she tell you if anything hurts ie throat?

Emskilou · 16/01/2007 17:20

She wont take anything I put near her now and normally milk is hard job for her to drink too I am getting really worried going to call the dr I think, thank you all for your replies

medised tastes like crap, my dd takes anything but that happily
get some of the very sweet calpol/ibuprofen, most kids don't mind that esp the orange ones as they go into juice easy peasy.
