Diagnosed with brain tumour... 14 weeks pregnant!

Wondering if anyone had ever experienced anything similar?
Basically I had 9 seizures in my sleep over 2 nights. Ct and mris done and a glioma has been found. I'm awaiting the outcome of the neuro oncology mdt at the moment. I also have a 13 month old and care for my husband who suffers from crohn's so the thought of something happening to me is rather terrifying! I'm only 31 and otherwise fit, well and intelligent in a professional job.
So anyone with any experience would be much appreciated right now!!

Oh goodness, I have absolutely no experience of brain tumours or being diagnosed with something that may require treatment whilst pregnant but didn't want to read and run. I don't know what to say other than I can understand why you are terrified - when is the MDT and where are you at the moment - in hospital or at home.

Thanks for replying. I'm at home - the MDT is today at some point so hoping to hear by tomorrow. Being at home with my daughter is at least helping take my mind off things!

It happened to a friend. I can't post details as it is her medical history, but both mother and child are very well now 10 years later.

My friend had similar but shortly following the birth of her second son- she found lots of support in Facebook brain tumour groups.

I have no experience of this either but couldn't read and not leave a message of support - I can't imagine how you must be feeling but really hope everything works out for the best for you. Let us know how you get on, will be thinking about you now

If you are in the UK, please contact the charity Mummy's Star for help - they specialise in providing help to pregnant women diagnosed with cancer etc.

I have no experience of what you're going through. It must be quite a shock to be confronted with this, especially when you're feeling well. I'm glad your daughter is helping to distract you. Is your husband around too? I hope you don't have to wait too long to hear from the hospital.

Hi little, really sorry to hear this. There's a thread called the tamoxigang for cancer patients on here. I don't know if you are yet or your tumour might be benign. However, although it's mostly breast cancer patients anyone is welcome and a poster actually had a baby last week. She was diagnosed while pregnant, had surgery a few weeks ago and is now about to start further treatment. So you're not alone. Lots have very young children too. It's great for general support.

I had a brain tumour whilst pregnant. It was discovered at about 10 weeks and I had two craniotomies at about 11 and 13 weeks. Baby is now 2 and is absolutely fine. As am I!

I didn't have a husband and a 13 month old to look after though... That's really tough. When will you hear back from neuro?

Really helpful to hear a similar story that ended positively huffybuffy. Thank you for that!! I've been told if neuro oncology haven't called me by tomorrow lunchtime to give them a call. So within 24 hours I'll know more!

Feeling Ok today. I have spoken to the hospital and am meeting with a neuro surgeon in a couple of weeks too see what we do from here!!
