bottles, teeth and the 20 month old!

20 month old ds has 2 bottles a day still. Is this ok? I think I read something about teats being bad for teeth.
Also, he refuses to have his teeth cleaned at the moment - so I am worried about the milk on his teeth at bed time.
I had a good look at his teeth today. The tops of 2 teeth are a slightly different colour to the bottom, a shade deeper white. It is very slight. What does this mean?
Any advice appreciated. thanks

my 3 year old is the same, with the bottles, but he does have his teeth cleaned twice a day.
Why not take him to the dentist for a check just to be sure.
Have you though of succumbing to the pressures of marketing and getting a toothbrush with his favourite cartoon character on it and letting him mess around himself for a week or so then doing it for him when he feels comfortable with the brush? (we have Toy Story toothpaste to this effect)

My dd was still on two bottles a day (at naptime and bedtime) and at 19 months I just switched the nighttime one to water instead of milk and the childminder stopped giving her the daytime one altogether. I was amazed, it only took a day for her to accept the water instead of the milk. At least that way I'm not worrying about the milk rotting her teeth.
