Bastard periods

As it says in the subject WHY ARE PERIODS SO AWFUL
Honestly I hate them ...I'm 42...3 kids so my pregnancy days are well over...day 2 of period and I've flooded everywhere sorry if tmi...I'm sick of them! Is it just me???

Tried all the drugs, then had womb ablation - absolute heaven. Bit of spotting for 2/3 days just need to wear black pants not even a pant liner!!!!

Once your family is complete absolutely worth it.

Not enjoying the peri menopausal symptoms however no more flooding, sleep interrupted nights, not being able to exercise etc.

I'm gearing up to phone my doctors for a GP appointment. I'm worried I'm making a fuss over not much and that I'll get fobbed off though.
I don't think the drug options will work for me due to my medical history etc.
Can those who've had it tell me more about womb ablation?
How old were you when you had it, did the GP have to refer you, was it done privately or on NHS, what anaesthesia did you have etc?

Did you phone the doctors yet?. Please phone them and do not be fobbed off. You are not wasting their time either.

I would request a referral to a gynae when you are at the GPs. This type of issue is well outside a GPs remit anyway so you should be referred on to such a person.

The cause of flooding should be properly determined; fibroids and endometriosis are two possible causes of this.

Ring GP and nag for a gynaecologist referral.
My GP has sent me for a lot of tests and wants me to have a smear too which was booked for today but I've had to cancel due to constant sodding bleeding.
