Carpal Tunnel

Anyone have this? Am being sent for tests for this. Was tested a few years ago for MS but diagnosed with vestibular migraine. Right hand incredibly painful left less so.Also have Costochondritis. Feel worried .

I had carpul tunnel it is relatively easily fixed. Had both wrists done (one after DD1 one after DS1). Firstly had steroid injections (did nothing) and then had carpal tunnel release operation. Done under local anaesthetic, out the same day, a week (if that) of being strapped up. They just snip along the sheath that holds the nerve. Almost instantaneous relief. Totally, totally worth it. Not come back.

No idea about the Costochondritis though

Had carpul tunnel, tennis elbow and various other referred pains managed with physio and sleeping in a wrist strap which took the pressure off and worked really hard to identify what was causing it and tried to rethink that to limit impact. Now do pilates and having gone back part time after dd2 it is manageable with occasional flare ups.

Thank you both. Gp did mention injections and surgery. Will go with flow. Having anxious time at the moment so think everything gets magnified!

Seriously, if surgery is recommended do not worry about it. I had PND/Anxiety at the time so know it is easier for me to say that than do it - but was seriously fine.

I have carpal tunnel in both wrists but have been told surgery not indicated. I am supposed to wear wrist splints at night but it makes going to the loo interesting, so I don't tend to bother with them. I always wake up with numb tingling hands, its quite funny trying to pick up my tablets to take when I wake up!

I have this but not very severe, just numbness and tingling in one hand rather than pain. After I was diagnosed, I wore a wrist splint at night for a while and it's actually better than it was. Don't wear the splint any more and don't get the numbness very often.

Will try splint at night. Hav been wearing on and off in day when not at work.

Had both mine done quick to heal no problems. The scar is on different places on both my hands and one is twice as long as the other.
Tried splints didn't really do much for me at all.

I also had surgery whilst waiting for the test to see if I needed surgery..... Funnily enough the test (was told I should go to after I checked) confirmed no problems due to the surgery I had a month previously
