Non-surgical treatment of a thick womb lining???

I am 51, peri-menopausal, have been diagnosed with fibroids and a thick womb lining. The result being I have been bleeding a lot since December. I have bled continuously for 5 weeks now..
I am taking Primolut which has stopped the clots but not the bleeding. I have had an endometrial biopsy and there is nothing worrying, so it's just the bleeding.
I am seeing a gyn. specialist next week, I know she will suggest an endometrial ablation as thats what my regular gyne suggested.
I would rather avoid surgery, is there any successful non-surgical treatments out there???
Any advice would be appreciated ladies.

Don't know if it is an option, but the mirena is used for problematic bleeding in the perimenopause.

Thanks for the reply. I had the Mirena in about 6 years ago. I bled for nearly a full year, then it fell out after 3 years so not a huge fan. Hopefully there is some other solution.

Prostap injections ??

Have you been offered hormonal treatment? Progestogens such as Norethisterone are used for hyperplasia (thickened lining) . usually, heavy bleeding in peri is because you aren't having complete cycles when the lining would normally be shed as a period.

Maybe you can re-think the Mirena? Bodies change and what happened 6 years ago may not happen again.

You might find this advice on Menopause Matters site helpful- written by a consultant gynae.

I take Synarel (nasal spray) for endo. It stops periods! It's used for fibroids too. Like Prostap but you take it daily.
