Im in complete agony and despite my cocktail of drugs ive had to put on 2 spare transtec 35 patches on for the past 7 days. The kids still have 1 week left off school and im not sleeping therefore exhausted is not the term. DH takes over after work completly and my DM is helping out everyother day but i just cannot cope and im soooo stressed. I burn, cramp, ache, cant lift the f img kettle etc. Its a poor me moment. Feeling very very let down (cracking up) by body and MH.
Oh and Fuck Pacing with a 5 and 8 yr old!!!!!

Pancakes - I am intolerant of all cows milk products. As well as the more expected stomach upsets, I get migraines, painful, aching joints and become horribly depressed if I have more than a trace of milk. Just adding to the joys of fibro!

PancakesAndMapleSyrup · 21/04/2016 08:43

Oh annie its really shite!!! I can have dairy but for just a drink prefer coconut milk. Hate soya, oay and almond tbh!! The patches are helping again as ive completly stopped the pregablin AND ive now got an appetite and.am loosing weight (work that one out). Last few days have been ok fatigued but pain tolerable! Hope you are all ok. Just nice to talk to people who understand. I dont fancy going to a fibro group and talking about woes to other people.oh amd have just started breifly swimming for very short periids awagin!!!! The boyauncy helps alot.

Well done on the swimming, Pancakes!
It's lovely to be in the water but non-fibros don't always realise that effort really comes with the 'getting ready & getting dry & getting home' part of the experience.
(Maybe we should all have our basements excavated & nice warm pools built, purely on the grounds of health benefits?)

So sorry some of you can't have dairy; I'd probably miss cheese & milk & yoghurt more than meat or wheat - tho would probably benefit if I gave up all of those, tbh!
Has anyone tried (& liked) rice milk?

AnnieOnnieMouse · 21/04/2016 20:58

Rice milk is ok as a drink, but a bit thin and grotty in tea. I haven't found anything other than soya I like in my tea.
I have recently swapped from sunflower spread to goat's butter, and it's so lovely - real stuff, rather than plastic margarine. I can also tolerate small amounts of goat cheese and sheep cheese.
The main problem isn't missing obvious dairy stuff, it's reading labels all the time to find the hidden milk. Aldi do about 6 types of nice chunky chilled fishcakes - only one type has no milk in them; so much stuff that has no business containing milk has it in. I don't usually mind not having it; the difference in my health is amazing. It's the digestion and arthritis that it annoys.
I stopped going to the pool because the effort of changing clothes afterwards wore me out too much, although that's the ME, not the Fibro.

sweetkitty · 21/04/2016 21:04

I'm practically vegan so drink soya milk all the time I actually prefer it now. Constantly being told that all my woes would be cured my a nice bloody steak. As if?! My bloods are always ok.

I did far too much on Tuesday and have really suffered for it, was nearly crying in bed last night. Everything hurts. Feeling quite low just now

Comeonmommy · 21/04/2016 22:05

Hello all, hoping I can jump on board. I have fibro and ME and finding it a big tough at the moment. I have just left work and am on a long term disability scheme. I go to a support group monthly and have made some amazing friends - couldn't do without their support. I have also just started a 10 week Pain Management Course so fingers crossed I pick up a few bits to help me on my way!!

Openmindedmonkey · 21/04/2016 23:18

Ooh nice to meet you - where's the pain management course, comeon? I am seeing the physio service at one in Liverpool.

Openmindedmonkey · 21/04/2016 23:25

I love that we'd all feel better if we aye steak / went vegan / atea dairy / went lactose free etc etc - we must be a dumb bunch to get it so wrong eh, sweetkitty!
Please don't let your physical health damage your MH, as you have done lots you know it'll cost you a payback, it's only temporary so ride it out & you will feel better later - be patient, let things physically heal. Cherish yourself a little.
(I have done the same today & will have my payback tomorrow- it'll be your turn to remind me, then!)

Gentle hugs to all x

My course is in Norwich (Norfolk). 1st session was Thursday. Met 7 other people with chronic pain and talked about where we are now, how it makes us feel, how others perceive us, what we've had to sacrifice and what we'd love to be able to do. It was tiring - this one was 4 hours, (usually they will be closer to 3hrs) and I left feeling physically and emotionally drained but optimistic. I did discover I was the only one there that had a support group to fall back on - do any of you guys go to a support group? I couldn't do without mine. They are there for me either face to face or via Facebook 24 hrs a day. My own personal Samaritans Smile
