Non surgical mole removal

Has anyone ever tried a home kit of wart and mole removal cream? I have some moles that I'd love to get rid of, but I'm scared of scarring and these creams claim to leave you scar free. Has anyone gone down the surgery route? Would love some advice.

whats the reason for removing the mole?

I have had a few moles removed surgically and the scarring is minimal. Depending on the type of mole, some can be 'shaved' off and leaves no scar at all.

Also, if you have it surgically removed, they will send it off for a biopsy just to make sure its ok. I liked that reassurance.

I had one removed. My gp did it with a freezing spray thing. It didn't hurt.

I hate them!! I have 3 biggish ones on my face. Have gone through phases in my life thinking they were OKish but my kids are starting to ask about them which is starting to really eat away at my self confidence.

Hi Maretta, was the mole on your face?

I was referred to a consultant dermatologist once for a mole that had changed - it was fine, but once he had looked at that, the consultant said "Are there any other moles or skin tags you want to get rid of?" He froze off a couple and scraped another - didn't hurt, and I was delighted to get rid of a couple of insignificant but unsightly moles! I was amazed that a consultant would happily take the time to do it - he seemed to be pleased to help.
So I'd suggest going to your GP. Especially if the moles are visible. Although the creams etc say thay won't leave a scar, I don't think I'd risk it.
I have also had a couple of moles cut out - local anaesthetic and then a tiny stitch, hardly any pain at all.

If I do have these moles removed it would change my appearance. I worry how people will react to the 'new' me. But cos I'm paranoid about them I cannot bring myself to bring up the subject of moles even with dh

I had one removed from my face/jawline. There is no scar.

I used to work for a Plastic Surgeon (who also, very kindly removed my moles for me ) I would go and see your GP and get them removed professionally. You do not want to mess about with creams that have claims to do wonders when you are working with your face.

Ask your GP to refer you to a Plastic Surgeon - you are most likely to get the best results. They are obviously really bothering you and making you really

Poppiesinaline, you are right. I will talk to my GP about this. The cream looks too good to be true, hence it probably is!
