Ear ache and teeth grinding

Had a terrible night with little dd2 - she appears to have ear ache (kept asking me to put 'ice cream' on it ) but she doesn't have a temp. I am sure it's painful though. She grinds her teeth and I am wondering if this could be the cause.

TIA!

It very well could be. The grinding is down to her trying to find the best 'fit' for her teeth, so she will grind until it all fits together nicely.

As all the muscles/nerves in this area are linked, then ear ache can just be a side effect.

If you are worried it could be more, seek professional advice.

Thank you. I will need to do something, she was crying all night and none of us have slept very much - I can't just rely on Calpol or nurofen.

So should I try a dentist?

Although i would normnally say the dentist, at a young age I doubt a dentist will do much, tbh. Adult break the cycle with a night guard, something dentists don't normally do withy children.

I think the doctor would be your best bet in this case, just to make sure it hasn't led to an infection of the ear.

Otherwise until she stops grinding, not a whole lost can be done.

Thank you. I've got a gp appointment this morning.
