DD complaining that her tummy buttons sore. It looks fine, not red or anything, but she is not herself. Went to docs yesterday, he spotted 2 new spots on her back and said chickenpox. But spots havent developed into pox, besides which she had it in the summer. Can you get chickenpox twice? Any ideas on he sore tummy button? (oh and wees and poos all normal). hope you can help.

Think chicken pox unlikely - only 2 spots and had in the summer. but you can get it twice if the fist time was light in spots and symptoms.

Has she worn anything that has rubbed around the waist band? or has she got a tummy bug? the current tummy bug is gripes 9sp?)_but not neccessary d&v - I griped for days but no other symptoms!

If it is chicken pox and she had it mildly in the summer then is very likely to have it quite bad this time -ie you will def know about it! Red spots on the back could be anything - DD always seems to get "pimples" here and there that I often think here we go this is chicken pox and they lead to nothing.

Maybe, as Simplyred says, she has got a tummybug, how old is she?

she's 2
still not asleep, usually goes down without a fuss, very clingy tonight.
no tight waist bands, no sign of sore skin.
threww up earlier, so think could be the tummy bug thing

Oh sorry just seen this - how is she? - sounds like tummy bug - nhs direct are very very good xx

hi
thanks for concern. Went back to docs today, apparently there is a virus like tummy bug doing the rounds, which causes all the symptoms that dd has. Just have to wait it out. Also doing a urine test just to rule out UTI. The doc was very thorough, so I am more confident now.
Only contact with NHS direct has involved them telling us on 3 different occasions to take dd to A&E. Seemed to be standard response for little ones with high temperature. I will try them again in future though.
