Anyone else's baby suffering with heavy cold making them sick?

And if so, have you got any advice for me? My 7mth old, Jack, has just had bronciolitus and now has a very runny nose and eyes. When he breathes, I can hear liquid noises. This morning when I woke him up, his nose was almost completely blocked up. If all that wasn't bad enough, he is throwing up once or twice a day (I think due to the mucus in the back of his throat).

What should I do?

I recommend Sterimar from boots. You squirt it up their nose and it mkes them sneez loads out. Also steamy bathroom helps. My DD is 8 months and has been the same for weeks. I think the sickness is quite good as it clears the mucus

Thanks Nadsa, I'll give it a go. He's still throwing up loads and I'm beginning to worry about his weight as it goes on.

defionately take him to the doctors though. babies can't tell us where it hurts. My DS had an ear infection once and I had no idea. Needed antibiotics.

Have the doctor check him out.
It may be just how he is with colds or it may be an infection.
DS was always sick with conjestion with a cold until he was about 4.
When he was 2 they started to prescribe decongestant for his colds so I could control it a bit,but the doctor shouldn't mind seeing him even if it just turns out ho be a heavy cold. If nothing else it will put your mind at rest, and at worst he will get treatment if he needs it.

Can you get hold of a nasal aspirator and use saline drops followed by a suck with that to evacuate as much mucus as possible. Also raise the level of his head in bed so he sleeps on an angle and use a humidifier if you have one.

Thanks for all the advice. I did everything you all advised and he seems to be okay now. I also got the plug in vaporiser which seems to help to.

Not sure about the aspirator though - I've tried a couple of times, but he's not overly keen on having it near his nose especially when I start sucking and it makes a noise!
