Of course this is an emotive discussion but it is a valid one which has been in the news. So we're talking about something which is in the media and people are telling others not to discuss it because it is insensitive to someone who has lost a child.
Nobody is disputing the heartache and devastation experienced by the loss of a child. no-one. But you cannot police what people are and aren't allowed to talk about based on the emotional impact it will have on someone who chooses to participate in that discussion.
This is an open forum. As long as discussion is not based on personal attacks on vulnerable posters there is no reason to suggest that people shouldn't be allowed to discuss the subject. The information and the reports are out there in the public domain. No parent who has lost a child to meningitis is going to agree that the vaccination isn't effective use of NHS funding, but at the moment the research suggests differently, and based on the figures that it would cost at least £500m to vaccinate all children under five with as yet little evidence that the vaccination has long-term effectiveness, it is a perfectly valid discussion.
