Anyone managed to improve a crap immune system? If so how?

I'm ill all the time. Nothing awful but coughs, colds, stomach bugs and mostly just random high fevers that come out of nowhere and totally floor me for 48 hours or so. Even when well I'm often tired and dizzy and more than one night out in a week and I'm done for. Doc ordered blooded tests but all looked fine so I was sent on my merry way.

I'm only in my thirties. I'm a good BMI (20). I eat loads of salad and veggies and fish. V little processed food except the odd takeaway curry for a treat. I don't smoke. I only drink socially. I try to sleep 8 hours a night although the children don't often cooperate with this plan. I don't exercise much but it's hard with work and kids.

Has anyone managed to really boost an ailing immune system? I'd appreciate any tips. I feel like I'm missing out on lots of life due to feeling so yuck all the time.

What did the GP check?

How long have you been feeling like this? I had about 2 years where I kept on picking up infections after I had swine flu. Has something given you a big 'hit'?

In our house we take the vitamin C tablets that you dissolve in water and they seem to help.

I don't think there was a trigger. Except maybe having my third child. I've not really been right since then and he is 2.5 years. I thought it was just exhaustion from working full time and having three kids but ice reduced my hours and actually feel worse rather than better.

GP checked various things including thyroid which was apparently OK. I don't know whether to go back as I'm sure it's not normal to catch so much and to always feel tired and dizzy.

I would ask to see what was checked.

I would ask for specifics tone checked like TSH level (thyroid), vitamin d level, checks for anaemia etc.
