Northampton school - 15 boys unwell after vaccines

does anyone know anything about this from 2 weeks ago? I worry because they were year 10 boys who had more than one vaccine and 15 sadly collapsed afterwards. I think they are all ok but which vaccines ? Our school are soon to give Men ACWY/Tdp together and now I am wondering if it is safe. I hope the boys are all ok now.

"Cannot seriously believe there is a psychosomatic effect for 12 boys!! That's ridiculous. And anyway, surely they don't vaccinate together, so they can't see each other getting vaccinated?"

The hysteria the girls at my dd's school whipped themselves up into on vaccination day was utterly amazing. Several "fainted", several were ringing their mums in floods of tears- and this was before the vaccination!

If there was a problem with the vaccine, then it would be clear that there was a problem. Fainting is a side effect of injections but not a side effect of vaccines as such! 12 boys fainting straight after a jab with no other physiological ill-effects is fairly obviously not an adverse reaction caused by the vaccine.

Minpin is making the most sensible comments here. I won't be allowing my children to have it but you others above please do go ahead.

Our grade 10s are notorious for collapsing. In fact, the rest of the school just eye roll now when they are all told to stay in their classrooms to leave the corridor free for first aid. They all say 'not another grade 10...' And sigh.

It's a bit like screaming ab dabs excitement in little kids at birthday parties. It's fuck all to do with the cake, just a bunch of small kids whipping each other into a frenzy. Same with the fear of imminent death by dangerous injection the absolute sheer hysteria of vacc day cannot be believed. The emoting is fuck all to do with the contents of the actual vaccine. I'm sure most of the fear and unnecessary drama isn't helped by people sucking their teeth and going 'no smoke without fire' 'can't possibly be hysteria, must be something wrong with the vaccine' etc etc.

I speak as someone with a vaccine allergy, btw. Grin A real one. Not one caused by group hysteria. It's a powerful force, though.

All vaccines have a batch number, so they can be sure exactly what was used and when and where it was manufactured. So they can check all the original tests on the the batch, and retest as required. They can also trace all the other places to which the batch was sent, to see whether the same side effects have been reported.

Also, there will be checks in the handling and storage all the way through the supply line, plus the exact circumstances of administration.

I will go ahead, yes thanks Joey. Meningitis is a great deal less fun than fainting on injections day - I want to give my kids the best chance of staying alive and with all four limbs intact.

This is EXACTLY what happened with my DD in Y8/9 when they had, I think, the cervical cancer jab. I had to pick her up and was there along with at least 10 other parents! When I said to her that I thought she ought to have the next one at the GP, she said NOOO! and that she would be fine. She wasWink
