Can I use nappy ointment on baby's neck?

9 month old DD has a red spotty rash on her neck and in her armpits. It's been checked by the paed. and it's simply due to drooling and not being aired. I try to heep those areas as dry as I can, but she's been drooling so much. Oilatum doesn't seem to have ane effect.
Would it be dangerous to use nappy rash ointment (Metanium), if kept out of reach of her hands and mouth? And of course, would it work?
Thanks Dawnx

ive put sudocream and zinc and caster on my ds face when he had sore dry skin, didnt do him any harm

IMHO don't think that nappy cream would do harm.
It will provide a barrier to the drool, and prevent it irritating her skin as much.
I've used Sudocrem on my dd, and have also used the Metanium baby moisturiser cream.
Calendula cream from a health food shop also helped.
If you're worried, ask your local pharmacist/GP

my doctor said sudocreme was fine but also recommended drapolene - its pink and not as thick. you can get it in boots.
