Nasal polyps anyone?

DH has had what we thought was a sinus infection, but for a long time. Doctor just advices him to use sudofed but it hasn't helped. He's constantly blowing his nose, talks through his nose and one nostril is blocked. Last night he had a look up his nose with torch and to our horror there's some kind of growth there. He's going to the doctors tonight, but in the meantime I'm worried sick that it might not be polyps, especially after reading that polyps occur up both nostrils.
I wonder if it's possible that there are polyps up the other nostril but just can't be seen? I'd be so grateful for anyone who knows about polyps and can reassure me.

@Mehripoop
Hi!
Glad that you have had surgery. Was it polyp removal on its own? I remember things felt better immediately as my airways were completely blocked. I still get very poppy ears - I wonder if I have narrow eustschian tubes? Do you feel there is an improvement in your original symptoms? Sending you good wishes.

I had a septoplasty, fess and balloon sinuplasty. I instantly felt the pressure gone from my forehead when I woke up. The congestion is beginning to subside from left nostril but right is still bunged up. Consultant did say it takes 3 months to really know if it worked. The ear symptoms are annoying me because I feel like I have water in them! Rice Krispies crackling and occasional pain. Just hope it subsides otherwise the surgery was pointless. They said the Eustachian tubes were mostly blocked by the congestion so time will tell!

I was allergic to nsaids. I also suffered from allergies and asthma and polyps for years. My allergist couldn't figure out what triggered the asthma then he had an epiphany. He said I had three conditions polyps, asthma and nsaids allergy that he called Samters triad. He said there was research at Scripps institute in San Diego CA that saw a great improvement in polyps and asthma if the patient was desensitized to nsaids. I went there and got the treatment which took less than 2 days as an outpatient.
It's been 5 years. I still have asthma but it's no attacks. My polyps shrank and disappeared. I can now drink wine and beer and go outside during springtime without any allergies. Apparently a lot of things have salicylates. I take aspirin daily now so the allergy to nsaids doesn't return. I hope this info can help your situation.
