Cannot be arse with this today of all days
I told dp tidying up was useles, and to cap it off dropped my pregnancy book (hardback bible epic) right in middle of my bare foot
i cried, it hurts.
Now the bruising is about the size of mandarin on the top of my foot and some bruising underneath.
It hurts to stand on and hurts to move mt little toe and toe next to it.

my dp thinks I've broken a metatatarsal (I have done this before btw twice)
please tell me I haven't I just cannot and will not got to A+E today.
I'm not in the mood

should have known between Boden sale tactics and new layout drama, my poor foot would get no sympathy.

if you stuck with heat, this would never happen

JanH · 15/12/2006 12:09

Ouch!

Even if you have broken them, piff, I believe all A&E would do is strap them together, so a DIY job would save time and agony

Could you get a large sock and put some frozen peas inside it on top of your foot? And then take some ibuprofen and have a nice sit-down.

MerryPiffmas · 15/12/2006 12:09

Heat was there too, even the bumper edition would not have caused this
DP said - helpfuly as men do
don't evne know why you need a pregnancy book, this is your 3rd time, surely you know everything
Was tempted to hurl it at his head tbh.

sympathy piff, sounds horrid

and you up the duff n all

JanH · 15/12/2006 12:12

Oh, can't you take ibuprofen? Not having been pg for 14 years I didn't know that!

BrandyTutter · 15/12/2006 12:15

no ibuprofen

no nuffink

no booze at all thee days apparently

fresh air dangerous too

JanH · 15/12/2006 12:16

Pregnancy books should be banned too I think.

CouldEquallyHaveBeenAnAardvark · 15/12/2006 12:18

Oh, Piff

I'm afraid I can be no practical use, but I will say an "owwwwww!" on your behalf if that helps?

cazzybabs · 15/12/2006 12:18

I wouldn't bother - if you are preggers then they won't xray you - will they? So all they might do is strap it up? Can you walk on it? I mean the other reason for going to A&E (apart from the fit doctors) is to get pain killers. But will be it be worth a four hour wait - think people with drunked Xmas parties injuries!

MerryPiffmas · 15/12/2006 14:24

It's just taken me 20 minutes to prise of my boot after collecting dd.
Having busted metatarsals before, they do nothing at the hospital tbh, so will ice it and rest it and elevate it I guess.
Well that serves me right for leaving ALL the xmas shopping til this weekend

And for the record paracetamol is actually quite pants in these circs
Damnation
Which is worse quick poll
Whisky or ibuprofen
