... write like this about me!

Tood ds for his injections today. While there, the nurse brought up his records on the screen, then left the room. I could see that on the screen there was a letter the consultant had written to the radiologist - in it she said things like "Mrs. X is very anxious and intense... For a while I had to be in daily e/mail and phone communications with her... [that is NOT true!]... I would advise you not to become entangled [this I guess is because I wrote the radiologist an e/mail with a query about the x-ray = he must have asked her whether to reply]"

I am so ANGRY and also upset.

Have to go and read to dd2 now - will be back later...

I looked at my hospital records and I was diagnosed as having an anxiety condition when I attended the maternity ward for assessment at 33 weeks. At the time my ankles had swollen, my blood pressure was borderline high, my urine contained glucose and protein and I was referred from a and e who were unhappy to risk sending me home.
At the labour ward I had my urine re-dipped (apparently neg - although throughout my pregnancy glucose was present at every other reading!) and my bp normal, my ankles had come down too however I had been resting in a and e on a trolley for 4 hrs!
I can't complain because a friend accessed my notes for me and I can't get her into trouble.
The same friend found on her daughters notes the abbreviation FLK which she later found our means Funny looking kid - she can't complain as works at the hospital and shouldn't of been looking.

Apparently a junior dr told my friend that doctors write stuff like this to protect themselves incase of complaints. If they have previously documented that pt's or families are "difficult" then it goes in there favour if ever things are investigated - a bit of a character assassination I think!

That's really interesting, thisturkeyneedsstuffing, and quite shocking if true!

I'm feeling very anxious and intense tonight btw, the doctor in America has e/mailed me to say that he will be happy to review the x-rays when he receives them, so I'm wondering what that will bring...

Just a word of warning to all parents that "professionals" out there are still to this day accusing parents who are concerned for their chidren's "lack" of care are being accused of munchhausen's by proxy".

Blame the parent is always easier than scrutinising themselves and their own attitudes and services.

We have had this crap thrown at us as well by a dentist who asked me point blank, "don't you TRUST professionals?" I asked him what a "professional" was and then reminded him that I was the "expert" regarding my child.

God knows what he wrote in his little book. It would be interesting though if all parents used the FOI act to find out what has been said by the medical people about us. All comes down again to the patronising attitudes they have, that we parents are ALL THICK and incapable of UNDERSTANDING our own children's needs. I think most doctors thinks parents are forrest gumps when it comes to our children. Funny that, cause i know two doctors whose kids have turned out to be complete little monsters.
