My 12m dd has bad diahoera and whilst she's not vomiting shes very grizzly and has a super sore bottom.
Is also un happy about doctor saying no food so I gave her a tiny slice of bread.
she was like a savage.

Any ideas that'll help cheer her up?

Also what's better for a sore bottom kamilasan or sudocream

(we use kamillosan)
I find distraction the best. ds likes being close to me when poorly so I pop him in the sling and we go for walks (really wrapped obviously!!) and go to see things he likes. Or we watch TV together. Or do stickers. Or read stories.
Anything really, as long as it's distracting! He has to have total undivided attention though, so now housework/writing Xmas cards/general busy-ness at the same time.
Hope you find something that works!

Also the eating thing, when ds has a bad tummy I give him a little bit of banana as it seems to help clog things up. Only a tiny bit though and if he throws it back up again then totally nothing, but whatever you do make sure she keeps drinking as these bugs can be very dehydrating. Some of the signs of dehydration is floppiness, lethargy and sometimes they get dark circles under their eyes. If she still has her soft spot on her head it will go concave if she's dehydrated. Don't panic, but probably a good idea to take a trip to the chemist or doc.
Hope she feels better soon

both kamillsan and sudocrem together for her bum. In terms of cheering her up I dont know..DD just likes to be cuddled and spoilt when she isnt well.. You can give dioralyte to a 12mth old but getting them to take it is another story!!

she wasn't interested in any of her toys so we went out for a drive. think it might of been more for me than her as needed to get out of house. but at least she got some sleep. will try tiny bit of banana just found her scouting round by her high chair looking for any remains

instead of dioralyte you can use your own rehydrating solution by dissolving 2 level teaspoons of sugar in 200ml of cooled boiled water. Offer liquid every 2-3 hours. (from 'when my child is ill' book)
Hope she feels better soon.

also flat lemonade apparently is good as it has potassium in it...can't be 7up! an intensive care nurse told me that, have never tested it!

I give warm sugar water but think babies are supposed to be given their usual milk, esp if they aren't vomitting. I would feed her, I think. But that's not a medical opinion. Keep her warm, cuddle her and give her some medicine for any pain so she can sleep. I like Sudocreme.
