Has anyone had an ECG at the GP surgery recently?

Have been having ectopic beats regularly for a while so GP booked me in for an ECG.
Also had a little burning chest pain which is high up on the left and doesn't feel deep, which I presumed was acid related.
Anyway, have had ECG this morning and the nurse phoned the hospital and played the recording down the phone?! She said a full report will be done by the weekend but the person on the other end on phone asked the nurse to ask me twice if I'm feeling OK at the moment? The nurse thought this was odd so now I am obviously terrified!
I am under a lot of stress at the moment so have put everything down to that until now.
Has anyone had similar and all turned out to be OK?

Thank you so much for your kind reply. Am trying not to worry!
I had surgery in June, would it not have been noticed then? I was attached to some leads!
Is there anything I can do to reverse it? Also still clutching at straws that it's an error but not looking likely is it :(
Merry Christmas by the way!

They would have just asked that to find out if you were feeling the symptoms at the time of the ecg.
I just had one, well two ECG recently and both times they asked me how I was feeling and whether I was feeling the symptoms at the time. I have had ectopics too, and more recently palpitations... Thought i was going to die! But rest assured that if there was anything at all remotely dangerous on there they would have called you in immediately. How are you feeling at the moment? Are you possibly menopausal? That was the explanation for my recent palps.

The ECG shows what is happening at the moment of the ECG. Some things indicate what has happened in the past - so you can 'see' an old heart attack but what you are actually seeing is that some of the myocardium is not 'deploring'.

During surgery they will basically only be bothered that your heart is beating and is regular, they will not be too concerned of the shape of the qRS (the uppy downy bit).

Changes in the ECG can be brought on by various things, exercise, stress, drinking coffee. I've even seen changes brought on by standing up - but that was someone who was heavily pregnant.

Thank you.
Have had an appointment come through in one month to see a cardiologist.
Hoping it was stress or coffee and all will be fine when I go!........

good, hope you're ok. Also bear in mind that if it is an arrhythmia there's lots they can do to sort it out.
