I'm due to have one and not allowed sedation due to being pregnant.
All I've read is horror stories and I'm so nervous!
Someone please say it's not that bad without sedation?!

That's probably good. I was tired too. It meant during the waiting I was half-napping which helped with anxiety and relaxing.

StarfrightMcFangsie · 04/12/2015 07:36

Good luck!

Thank you Starfright :)

Hope it is over and the staff were kind.

It was awful, but I was vomiting prior to it in the waiting room as my hyperemesis is bad atm and missed an iv dose of my anti sickness.
vomited several times during it but its part of diagnosis if that makes sense?
I've bile reflux and biliary colic causing inflammation. If I hadn't the vomiting/retching it would have been fine so id still advise people without sedation :).
Can't start treatment or have correction until after pregnancy so consultant thinks this will last entire pregnancy!

Oh well done for getting through that Sad It sounds especially difficult.

I vomited a couple of times last week just at the thought but was in control on the day. I imagine if I was nauseas on the day anyway it would have been impossible to control anything.

Glad you got a diagnosis and a plan even if you have to wait. When are you due?

ICantThinkOfAUsernameH · 04/12/2015 15:21

thank you. I sound such a wuss compared to you!
aw bless you :( the thought is really scary.
Thank you, me too was starting to think I was going mad if that makes sense? So its good to know there is a cause.
I'm due 11th May so ages to go!

I think you had a massive disadvantage going into the procedure.

Early Summer babies are the best as you launch straight into maternity duties with the better weather.

I had a June boy and it was off out often (locally) with a nappy in my pocket and a small packet of wipes to read in the park or a café. I did bf which made it possible to not have a bag.

Hope you get back onto your anti-sickness meds soon.

OP what a horrible experience for you ,I do hope the staff were understanding and kind and that you've been given good advice on how to manage it and avoid attacks .

You sound very patient and stoical .Absolutely the opposite of a wuss .

Hope your sickness and the reflux and colic abate .
