What's a good gap between vaccinations?

DD2 is 13 months old, has had all the 2/3/4 months jabs and had Prevanar 2 weeks ago - all fine - and she will have single measles/mumps/rubella. She has a diary/egg allergy. How long do you think is a good gap between Prevanar and the next jab? Can't decide whether to do measles next or Hib/MenC booster. Does anyone know what other jabs are recommended before school age? DS1 is 7 so the vaccination programme has changed and I'm worried about the extra jabs.

You shouldn't be due any now until she is 12m.

I wouldn't worry about the extra jabs for DS as some of them protect against illnesses which are not as prevalent in children over 2 (e.g. prevenar).

SlightlyMadSanta, thank you for posting a message. It's not DS I'm worried about extra vaccinations as he is now 7 and passed the age of having them. My daughter is 13 months old and I'm not sure what is a good gap to leave between Prevenar and the next jab and whether to do single measles or Hib/Men C booster next. Reassurance from anyone would be greatly received!!!

My DS is 23 months and had flu jab recently (as he is on immuno suppression drugs following a transplant). He will have Prevonar and a second flu jab at the same time one month after the first flu jab. He then is due a second prevonar jab after 2 months and then another pneumovax after 2 more months (this one is only for over 2 year olds). He never had MMR as had transplant before he was due to have it and as it's a live vaccine he can't have it now.

Hope that helps a bit, but the health visitors should be able to advise you about this too.

If you want to give hib/menc booster next then you need to leave at least a month since the prevenar, the same would apply to measles. If you are definate about the single jabs then I would go for the single measles next then another month and the hib/menc booster as she has already received some protection against hib/menc in her baby jabs. Is her egg allergy severe ie; causes anaphylaxis? The single measles is cultered in egg protein like the MMR so she may need to have them under supervision in hospital, but I doubt they would be able to give the single measles jab.
HTH sorry if a bit garbled!!

Thank you both for your messages.

DS never had MMR or singles (Doctor said if I decided on MMR it would be fine to do at the surgery). He has a lot of allergies, including diary and egg (now just allergic to raw egg) and had febrile convulsions. My strong instinct was not to vaccinate him at the time. Now he is 7 and seems to have a much stronger immune system, I have arranged for him to have the single measles vaccine in Jan.

DD is also allergic to diary and egg (no sign of anaphylactic). I have booked for her to have the single measles vaccine at 14 months, along with DS, which will be 5 weeks after she had Prevenar. My dilemma is whether to cancel her measles jab and do it a little later, ie when she is 16 or 18 months old.

I suppose I'm looking for reasurrance because I have no experience of the measles vaccine. Does anyone think a longer gap than 5 weeks between prevenar and single measles?
