I am so tired all the time, however I am a student nurse, with a family dc 12 and 9, one is asd. I have 2 dogs and an elderly gran that I help with. So I often just put tiredness down to this. I have made an appointment with gp next week as I figure I could do with a general MOT. I could nap every afternoon when I get in from Uni for an hour or more and I usually fall asleep on the sofa at 9pm. Up between 6 and 7. I find placement tiring which I expect but I am also exhausted when I am in uni which I didn't expect. I theoretically have quite a bit of time when I am in uni but I spend all my spare time sleeping.
So is the GP going to think I am a time waster or does it sound like tiredness above and beyond what should be expected?

TBH, you sound pretty 'normally' tired for all the things you are doing.

I guessed that might be the case, I am also really hungry all the time, I have reduced caffeine to one cup of coffee a day and joined the gym, I try to eat well all in a hope of reducing the tiredness.

Hey OP, you sound a little like me. I was worried at the beginning of the year there was something wrong (also felt emotional/sad quite a bit) so saw my GP. He was amazing; really listened to me, empathised, and ordered full blood tests, just to rule anything out. They came back boringly normal, and on my follow up appointment my GP listened some more and I went away feeling much better. I had a 12mo and 4yo, and I'm a SAHM, so he said I was just exhausted from looking after them and being a 24/7 cleaning and feeding machine.

I think it would be a good idea for you to get checked out too.

Oh, I nap every day that I can (prob 4/5 days out of 7) plus have 8hrs sleep a night. My family reminded me that I've always slept a lot! I think it's just my normal. This time of year doesn't help either, and you are doing an awful lot at the moment by the sounds of things.

You see I think a 12month old and a 4 year old is exhausting, much sympathy.

Best of luck with your GP appt next week - I hope he/she is sympathetic. Sounds like you've got a lot on your plate, and life is full on, so. I wonder you're shattered Flowers [tea]
