Dh has just called me into the bathroom. He was in the bath with ds2. He said, what do you think of this. On the inside of his foreskin is what looks like really deep purple and black brusing. The skin is also rutted, not like it usually is. The outside of the skin is very white and I'm very concerned.

I'm sure that if he'd hurt himself he'd have know about it. They usually do. Am I right to be concerned? Any idea what it could be?

Ds2 is six months and no it doesn't hurt.

I've just called NHS direct and the waiting time was 2 hrs but they phoned back within 15 minutes and it was a male nurse. He seemed really concerned and said that it might be a hematoma (not spelt right) . He said that if it is they may have to operate. I explained that he'd not hurt himself and he said that an injury has occured that he might not know about. He wanted to know the last time he'd had sex (months ago).

So dh has gone off to the hospital on his own and I'm home with the kids. I wish I could have gone with him. I hope they don't decide to keep him in. I can't take him anything.

I need to stop thinking the worst and hope it's something a nothing.

Try not to worry though I know it's easier said than done. My mates DH had something that sounded v similar and it was a burst blood vessel.

I find Nhs direct helpful but they do overly worry you sometimes. They go through every possible cause of a problem.

((((hugs))))

yes NHS direct are notorious for putting the fear of god into you. LAst time I used them they told me to take ds1 straight to hospital and if he collapsed and stopped breathing on the way to pull over and dial 999 (he couldn't wee).

Hope your dh doesn't have to wait too long to be soon. Easier said than done but try not to worry....
