So this is my first ever post....and I was hoping it would be about something a bit more exciting than blinkin' toothache.

So over this weekend I started noticing some dull toothache, back left. I am certainly NOT a fan of the dentist but I did recently have a filling replaced and I surprised myself with how well I coped.
Anyway I digress, I did have a dental appointment booked for tomorrow but I had to cancel due to having D&V!! Really really bad timing!
I've rebooked for next week but I know that the longer you leave things like this the worse they get, but what choice do I have.
Does anybody have any tips on how to keep the ache at bay until next week?
I can just tell that because I cant get to a dentist it will kick off Angry

clove oil will help but read about it first.

I would try painkillers first, along with hot salt water mouthwashes in case it's a gum infection.

Ask your local pharmacy if they stock 'toothache tincture'. Two or three companies used to make it but as I haven't had cause to buy it for years I'm not sure how easy it is to find now.

A small ball of cotton wool soaked in clove oil and applied to the tooth should produce a numbing effect which relieves the pain but, if you can't stand the taste, oregano oil works just as well and tastes much nicer.

My favourite remedy is use the aching tooth to crunch an aspirin (if there's a cavity stuff some of aspirin into it) and follow with a ball of whisky soaked cotton wool keeping it in place until the pain subsides.

Gargling for a minute with salt water or with Listerine, making sure to swish the liquid around the aching tooth, can help to relieve the pain.

Google search for other home remedies as you'll no doubt have some of the substances/ingredients to hand in your kitchen/pantry.
