I though this you tube video about Breast Cancer prevention might be of interest:

I won't watch it because it's bound to be bollocks. You can't prevent breast cancer! It's a random mutation of cells. Seriously, why would you post this?

namaste99 · 30/10/2015 12:07

So what sort of breast cancer's that then? You do realise there's more than one type? I don't usually post, but seriously????

specialsubject · 31/10/2015 18:15

who can be bothered to watch a video? Post words if you want to make a point.

this is the woman who initially proposed the possible link between parabens/aluminium and breast cancer. Jury is still out and studies continue. So if you are worried, I suppose you can take the appropriate action.

plenty of other causes, sadly, including genetics. So thread title a gross over-simplification.

why so over-sensitive?

facts aren't rude. The silly soshul meeja idea that people will watch videos is bone-headed. I'm certainly not sitting through all that.

weebarra · 31/10/2015 20:48

Haven't watched the video but I'd be very interested to know how I could have prevented the breast cancer caused by my BRCA2 gene mutation.

Llouh · 31/10/2015 20:53

Weebarra I am BRCA2+ too. I hope you're doing well.

weebarra · 31/10/2015 20:56

Llouh, I am. Two years post diagnosis, bilateral mastectomy, chemo, radio and oophrectomy! Sitting watching big hero six with my DCs. I hope you're ok with your BRCA2 too.

So you think those of us who have it could have been a bit smarter and done something to prevent it?

IamtheZombie · 31/10/2015 23:24

So, as Zombie is being anaesthetised in 11 days time so that surgeons can resect her liver to remove her breast cancer metatases, should her last thought before going under be that it's her fault? That in was in her power to have prevented the BC from occurring in the first place?

Complete and utter bollocks.

Well your name is very apt if you don't understand our responses. Just leave it now.

specialsubject · 01/11/2015 10:48

my feeling was also that this kind of thing REALLY DOES NOT HELP those who have breast cancer. And remember men get it too.

wishing the very best to those on this thread. Cancer is never anyone's fault.

Lilymaid · 01/11/2015 10:59

I reported the thread to Mumsnet when it first appeared and got the response that they would see how it developed.
It was remiss of me to get BC and even more remiss to allow it to metastisise in my bones ...
