I have black poo!

Sorry gross topic.
What would cause that? I don't take any supplements or medications (barring one I have been on for years..defo doesn't cause black poo). I have IBS (allegedly) and pretty severe stomach pain at times but that's nothing new.

Had a quick google and all sorts of dire things come up, but I don't feel unwell , stomach pain is at usual levels ..ie discomfort , hot water bottle to cuddle, not agony. It's been like this a couple of days.

Do I need to see a GP or is it safe to eat really simply and see if it just goes?

Feeling knackered could be a sign you're anaemic, which could well be related to your black poo.

Your daughter will tell you to get an urgent GP appointment to get checked out. If the receptionist isn't being helpful at the very least get them to get the duty doctor to ring you back to discuss what's happening. They will absolutely want to see you ASAP.

Hi, sorry, been away all weekend.. yes DD1 told me off and I have an appointment tomorrow! I do have diverticular disease so am hoping I've had a bleed 'just' from that. Either way I am being seen, so thank you for nagging!

Sorry for being a nag - I'm exactly the same I never ever get checked out even when told and end up being worse off I shall start nagging myself as well as other posters ! Hope it goes well and I'm glad your getting sorted
